We're in the Gironde
The département of Gironde forms part of the Aquitaine region in south west France and is famous worldwide for its wine and for its beautiful Atlantic coastline.
Our weather
The weather is fantastic and the region enjoys almost as much sunshine as the Côte d'Azur. The summers are long and hot and the winters are mild. You can usually still have lunch outside in early November and be back at your garden table in February, when there are often some lovely warm days!
For Kids and Families
Spend a week or two 'away from it all' with plenty of space for the kids to enjoy the kind of freedom not usually available to them.
The island provides an isolated safe haven paradise where children can chase bugs, climb trees & run wild without traffic or crowds to get in their way! You can relax completely, hearing nothing but birds & moving only to cool off in the pool.
New for 2009 - a petting farm and brand new super play area.
Come and meet our pets! Not only do we have 2 lovely dogs, we also have some of the friendliest animals you will ever meet. Duckie and Maggie the pygmy goats will happily sit on your lap for a cuddle - so would Charlie and Spot our spotty pigs if they were small enough! They love nothing better than a tummy tickle - have you ever seen a pig smile? Maybe you’d like to help feeding Flossie and Jemima, our Jacob sheep, or perhaps you fancy hunting for fresh eggs from our free range chickens. All of our animals are used to being handled by adults and young children.
Both gites have private gardens, barbecues and beautifully furnished, private outdoor eating areas. There is plenty of space for ball games, swings, a slide, sandpit, table tennis, boules. Our pool is 10m by 5m and varies in depth from about 90cm to 2 m, with a step all the way around so it is very child friendly. The island has muddy or pebbly beaches which children love!
Designed with Families in Mind
As parents of young children ourselves we know that if they don't have a good holiday, neither will you! With that in mind we have provided as many things as possible to make your holiday child friendly. Practical items such as high chairs and cots are available for the very young, and each gite has plastic cups and plates so you don't need to worry about accidental breakages. We also provide some toys and books for young children in each gite, and we have around 60 child friendly DVDs.
Outdoors your children can run on ahead without fear of traffic or strangers and race you to the play area which has a swing, rope ladder, slide, towers, climbing walls and a sandpit complete with buckets and spades! If they'll let you off swing-pushing duty, there's even a picnic table where you can relax with a glass of wine.
