Did you know...

We're in the Gironde

The département of Gironde forms part of the Aquitaine region in south west France and is famous worldwide for its wine and for its beautiful Atlantic coastline.

Our weather

The weather is fantastic and the region enjoys almost as much sunshine as the Côte d'Azur. The summers are long and hot and the winters are mild. You can usually still have lunch outside in early November and be back at your garden table in February, when there are often some lovely warm days!

Some of the nice things our guests have written in our guest book.

'We have had a special fortnight - so a hearty thanks for making it so good!'

'We have just enjoyed one of our best holidays ever!'

'On the whole a fantastic holiday - See you next year!'

'The description did not do the gite or island justice'

'We wanted an unusual holiday with peace and quiet and we got just that. The island is beautiful and the gite unique and very well done'

'Thanks for a great time, this sort of holiday is our ideal. Peace and quiet, wildlife, fun and adventurous.'

'We have had a magical time. The return to civilisation was a little difficult!'

'This is a great place for a holiday. A wilderness to explore, and not a car for miles.'

We picked blackberries, swam, played on the swings and climbing frame, and ate outside in the warm summer evenings. We were even lucky enough to take a trip to the lighthouse, and climb to the top for views of the estuary.

Despite being totally away from it all we didn't miss out on those holiday must haves. Jump in the boat, head for Pauillac and take your choice of ice-cream sundaes from a row of restaurants that face the dock - bliss. Oh, and you might get a few nice bottles of wine there as well.
